August 25, 2018 - 7th Place Finish in River City Rumble at Park Jefferson
1Jake continued on the road with the United States Modified Touring Series as the season begins to wind down. Friday's event at the Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa was rained out just before heat races began, so the team continued on the road to the Park Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson, South Dakota on Saturday night. He ran fifth in his heat race and then started 15th in the main event and was able to move forward for a solid 7th place finish at the checkered. Sunday night, the team made their way to the Casino Speedway in Watertown, South Dakota for the 3rd annual Sandy Benson Memorial. Jake won his heat race from the outside of the front row and redrew 7th for the main. While running inside the top ten, he suffered a flat tire, which forced him to the tail, where he would officially come home with a 16th place finish.

August 18, 2018 - Jake O'Neil Wins Grant Junghans Memorial at Lakeside Speedway; Bags $10,002 Payday
1Jake was back on the road with the USMTS this past weekend in completion at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS on Friday night for the 3rd annual Grant Junghans Memorial, which boasted the largest one day payout in Modified racing in 2018. The $10,002 payday is a large payday and a very meaningful payday as well. Jake started 5th and ran 3rd in his heat race, before winning his b-main and starting the 32-lap main event from the 13th position. In the feature, Jake raced his way into the top ten early then continued to pick his way forward into the top five and eventually found himself battling for the lead, which he was able to take and go on to win the biggest race of his career! 

1 Saturday night, the team made the trip to the Salina Highbank Speedway in Salina, OK and Jake ran fourth in his heat before coming in third in the b-main and starting the main from the 17th starting spot. In the feature, Jake charged forward quickly and raced inside the top five for much of the event, eventually coming home in fifth.

August 12, 2018 - Jake O'Neil Follows USMTS to Hawkeye State
1 Jake was back on the road with the USMTS this past weekend for a trio of events during the hunt for the Casey’s Cup. Friday night, the team made their way to the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. During the heat race, Jake had troubles, ending his heat early and he was forced to take a provisional for the main event. From his 23rd starting spot, Jake raced his way up to 12th before being caught up in a crash, ending his night early.

Saturday, Jake and his team made their way to the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, MN, where his night was much better. He started and finished second in his heat race before starting third and finishing a solid fourth in the non-stop main event.

Sunday night, the weekend concluded at the Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, IA where Jake ran fourth in his heat race before redrawing the outside of the front row for the main event. Jake was running in the top three early in the main before he and another car made contact, creating problems and forcing Jake to retire from the main event early.

August 4, 2018 - Top 10 Finish with USMTS at Humboldt Speedway
1Jake and his team were back in action this past weekend with a pair of USMTS events in Kansas and Missouri. Friday night, the team made the trip to the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, KS and after a 6th place run in the heat race, Jake won the b-main from 5th and then rallied in the feature from 14th to a 7th place finish. Saturday night, at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo, Jake charged from 9th to 3rd in his heat, redrew the pole for the feature and ran inside the top three until a lap 27 break down took him out of contention.
