Jake O'Neil Wins Grant Junghans Memorial at Lakeside Speedway; Bags $10,002 Payday

Jake was back on the road with the USMTS this past weekend in completion at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS on Friday night for the 3rd annual Grant Junghans Memorial, which boasted the largest one day payout in Modified racing in 2018. The $10,002 payday is a large payday and a very meaningful payday as well. Jake started 5th and ran 3rd in his heat race, before winning his b-main and starting the 32-lap main event from the 13th position. In the feature, Jake raced his way into the top ten early then continued to pick his way forward into the top five and eventually found himself battling for the lead, which he was able to take and go on to win the biggest race of his career!

Saturday night, the team made the trip to the Salina Highbank Speedway in Salina, OK and Jake ran fourth in his heat before coming in third in the b-main and starting the main from the 17th starting spot. In the feature, Jake charged forward quickly and raced inside the top five for much of the event, eventually coming home in fifth.
