O'Neil Lands Top 10 Finish in Modified Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway
Jake made the trip to the Cedar Lake Speedway for the annual $40,000 to win Masters this past weekend. The weekend started off on Thursday night with a $2,500 to win USMTS event in which Jake raced from 7th to 4th in his heat, then won the b-main from the front row and quickly raced from his 13th starting spot in the main event up to a top five run and was in contention to win the event until he kissed the wall and came home 4th when the checkered flew. Friday night, the teams ran a pair of qualifying heat races and Jake raced from 10th to 6th in one heat and from 4th to 2nd in the other, putting him 10th overall in passing points and 10th in the pole dash. Jake ran from 10th to 6th in the dash, and then on Saturday night he rolled off from the outside of the second row in the three-wide start and ran inside the top five during the majority of the event, slipping to a 10th place finish when the 70-lapper was done.
