6th Place Finish at Dallas County Speedway
Jake was back on the road with the United States Modified Touring Series this past week and competed in four events across Missouri and Oklahoma.
Wednesday night, the team visited the I-35 Speedway in Winston, MO and was involved in a first lap crash in the heat, ending his heat race early. He scratched from the b-main in order to make repairs for the main event. He used a provisional to start 23rd in the feature field and stormed his way up to 6th before losing his brakes and pulling in to save his equipment.
Thursday night, the series made its debut at the Dallas County Speedway in Urbana, MO and after running fifth in his heat race, he again moved forward from 19th to a solid 6th place finish on the tight bullring.
Friday night, Jake raced at the Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO and fell out of his heat race due to rough track conditions, but then rallied from 20th up to 11th in the feature on a narrow and hammer down track due to overnight rains.
Saturday, the team wrapped up it's four day swing at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, OK and Jake had another top ten finish. He raced from 5th to 2nd in his heat race before starting 5th and coming home 7th when the final checkered flag flew.
