Jake O'Neil Enjoys Two-Win Memorial Day Weekend
Jake continued his solid month of May by picking up a pair of wins over the course of the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Thursday night, he competed in IMCA action at the Kossuth County Speedway in Algona, Iowa. He ran fifth in his heat race, but then put on a show as he stormed from his 14th starting spot to steal the lead and the win to start off the weekend on the right foot. (Icon Images)
Friday, he made the trip to the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, WI for USMTS action and after finishing sixth in his heat race, he again got up on the wheel and charged from his 14th starting spot up to a solid runner up finish.
Saturday night, the USMTS Series was back in action at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN and he ran second in his heat race before coming home 9th in the main.
Sunday capped off the final night of the holiday weekend at the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, IA and after a fourth place finish in his heat, Jake raced from his 5th starting spot in the main to pick up his 5th career USMTS victory. (Tyler Rinken photo)
