Jake O'Neil steals Mod Nationals opener at Mississippi Thunder

Jake made a last minute schedule change and entered action at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, WI for Mod Nationals weekend.

Thursday, he raced from 6th to 2nd in his heat race before drawing the 6th starting spot for the main event. He was able to race from the outside of the third row to the lead and drive off with the victory to kick start his weekend.

Friday, the event times were moved up due to impending weather and after racing to a third place finish in his heat, he started 9th in the main, but unfortunately broke a gear in the distributor, ending his night.

Saturday, Jake won his heat race from third and then started third in the main, raced to the lead and had his left rear tire going flat while leading, causing him to slow a bit and slip back to fifth at the checkered.
