Jake O'Neil lands Top-5 finish in USMTS action at Salina Highbanks

Jake was back on the road with the United States Modified Touring Series for a three-track swing through Missouri and Oklahoma over the weekend. Thursday night, at the Dallas County Speedway in Urbana, Missouri, Jake raced from 7th up to win his heat race, but was disqualified for a minor infraction after he suffered damage earlier in the heat. This caused him to start at the tail of the b-main, which he rallied forward to finish 6th. In the feature, he started 23rd and raced his way into the top ten before spinning off the top of the track and restarting at the tail, only to race forward again, coming home 12th, earning the night's Eibach Spring Forward Award for his efforts.

Friday, at the Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO, he fell out of his heat race, took a provisional to get a starting spot into the feature and then ended up pulling off in the main as well, ending a frustrating night early.

Saturday, the team capped off their weekend at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Pryor Creek, OK and after a 6th-4th run in the heat, Jake started 10th in the feature and rallied his way to a 4th place finish, ending the weekend on a high note.
