O'Neil tops Dakota Mod Tour at Williston, Finishes third in points

After a solid first three nights of the 31st annual Dakota Classic Mod Tour, Jake entered the final three nights of action on the tour and, although he had to work hard for it, he never finished outside of the top two in the three main events on the week. (Mike Spieker photo | Speedway Shots)

Monday night, at the Williston Basin Speedway in Williston, ND, he ran second in his heat race, which earned himself the 14th starting spot in the night's 30-lap main event. In the feature, he rolled his way forward to charge from the outside of the 7th row to the lead and put his #0 in victory lane!

Tuesday, at the Southwest Speedway in Dickinson, ND, he ran fourth in his heat race, won the b-main and then again charged forward from his 16th starting spot to come home with a very solid second place finish for his efforts.

And Wednesday night, at the Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, ND, he won his heat race from 10th and then raced to his second runner up finish in a row during the main event.

All in all, the team had a great DCMT week with two wins, two runner up finishes, a fifth place run and one rough night.
