Jake O'Neil double dips at Central Arizona Raceway
Both Jake and Nick entered IMCA Modified action at the Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, AZ this past weekend for the track's three-night Showdown event.
Nick had problems in his heat race on the opening night, which ended up ending his night, and weekend prematurely.
Jake on the other hand hopped into a Kody Scholpp #02 car and after a 9th to 6th run in his heat race on Friday night, he won the b-main from third and then proceeded to storm through the field from his 17th starting spot in the night's main event to pass 16 cars and win the feature for his efforts!
Saturday, he missed his heat race, which forced him to start 11th in the b-main, which he proceeded to work to the front and win, putting him 17th in the starting lineup for the second night in a row. In the feature, he again worked his way forward, crossing the finish line with a 7th place run.
For Sunday's finale, he won his qualifying heat race from 4th and then completed the sweep of the night by racing from his 3rd starting spot in the feature to the lead and to his second win of the three night event.
