Jake O'Neil captures $10,000 USMTS payday at Winneshiek Raceway
Jake was in action across Minnesota and Iowa over the weekend with a trio of USMTS events at the Chateau Speedway in Lansing, MN on Friday night, the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN on Saturday night and the Winneshiek Speedway in Decorah, Iowa on Sunday night.
Friday, at the Chateau, after a fourth place run in his heat race, Jake started third and slipped to 10th in the b-main before taking a provisional and starting 24th in the night's feature event. From the outside of the 12th row, Jake was able to work his way though the field and raced home with a 6th place finish.
Saturday, at Deer Creek, Jake ran second in his heat race and then started 11th in the feature, but unfortunately fell out of the feature before the race concluded, ending his night early.
Sunday, to wrap up the weekend, at the Winneshiek Raceway Jake ran fifth in his heat, won the b-main and then charged from his 14th starting to race through the field and pick up the $10,000 feature victory for his efforts.
