Jake O'Neil opens 2022 season with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
As you've heard by now, Jake is back in the Late Model world and began his 2022 season with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at the AllTech Raceway in Lake City, Florida on Thursday and Saturday nights with a Friday rainout mixed in.
Thursday, he ran 8th in both his heat race and the b-main, getting comfortable in the car for the first time this season. Saturday, he raced from 8th to 5th in his heat race, then won the b-main, locking himself into the feature and after starting 18th, he fell out of the race, but felt good making his first Lucas Oil feature in only his second night in the car.
Monday, he began his six straight nights at the East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida and recorded a pair of sixth place finishes in his heat race and the b-main, amongst the 70 car field.
Tuesday's event was rained out and racing begins again on Wednesday.
