Jake scores top-five finish in USMTS opener at Deer Creek

Jake was back on tour with the USMTS over the Memorial Day holiday weekend with a triple header at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN Thursday through Saturday and a single day show at the Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa on Sunday.

Thursday night at Deer Creek Jake qualified third in his group, finished seventh in his heat race, then raced from 10th up to finish 4th in the night's b-main before starting 22nd in the feature and storming through the field to crack the top five and eventually finish fourth.

Friday night, he qualified third again, ran fourth in his heat race, raced from 6th up to 2nd in the b-main and then worked forward in the night's feature race from his 17th starting spot to finish 12th.

Saturday after qualifying second in his group, he raced from 5th up to 3rd in his heat race, but fell from his 4th starting spot in the night's feature to officially be credited with a 19th place finish after a DNF. And the weekend was capped off in West Union on Sunday with a 7th to 4th run in the heat race before starting 10th in the feature but falling out of action for the second night in a row with issues.
