Jake O'Neil grabs USRA Fall Nationals prelim at Vado

Jake entered weekend action at the Vado Speedway Park in Vado, NM for the track's 23rd annual USRA Fall Nationals event.

Friday night, Jake started 6th in this qualifying heat race and was able to race forward to finish second, putting him 4th in the night's passing points and putting him outside of the second row of the night's qualiying feature. In the feature, he was able to quickly get to the front and lead the majority of the 25 laps, en route to the win, putting himself on the pole for Sunday's 50-lap $20,000 to win finale.

After qualifying for the pole from Friday night's event, Jake decided not to race on Saturday night and focus on Sunday.

Sunday, he rolled off from the pole and raced inside the top five early until misfortune struck and he was forced to retire from the event early with mechanical troubles.
